I had thoughts of doing this myself. I figured it would take me at least a couple of weeks working on it only nights and weekends by the time I tore up everything, floated the floor, laid the laminate, and then did the molding. We didn't want our house turned upside down for that long. Three guys came in on Friday for the prep work (tearing up carpet and a little tile, floating the floor, and under-cutting the fireplace). They came back on Saturday to install. It took them only 6 hours to lay the floor and do all the molding.
