We were supposed to go camping this weekend at SFA State Park. With all the rain we've been getting (wouldn't trade that for the world by the way) we figured the trails there would just be a sloppy mess. Add to that Alayna fighting a cough for the last 3 weeks or so and mid 40 nights we decided to stay home. Next best thing??? Fire pit! We've been sitting out here for over 4 hours. Kids grilled hot dogs...Jen and I used the cast iron pie maker to make ham and cheese sandwiches, then apple pie for dessert using some apple filling from Cracker Barrel. Finished it up with some of Jen's popcorn. Not the same as camping, but other than pitching the tent in the backyard it is as close as we can be! Given the choice now, I'll take our bed over the air mattress too...
