Alayna's Eye Surgery

Alayna had surgery on Tuesday in an attempt to help with her eyes wandering. She does a good job of correcting when she knows it's happening, but more kids noticed in school this year and we wanted to correct it before questions from other kids became taunts.

They cut the muscle from her eye and re-attached it in a different location. She had it done on both eyes. Here she is before the surgery...






The surgery lasted about an hour. The doctor and anesthesiologist both commented afterward on how amazed they were with how she handled herself. That's our big girl!



She did pretty well coming out of her sleep and we were home by early afternoon. She is recovering quite nicely. She has some discomfort and double vision, which they tell us is normal. We see improvement every day. Keep your fingers crossed that this does the trick.
