Last Thursday the 3rd grade put on their performance at school. It was 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Alayna had the part "ma". She was on stage the whole time and acted out the gestures as the poem was read. She did a wonderful job.
This morning she had an awards assembly for her UIL adventures. She worked very hard studying and preparing for two different competitions.
Ready Writing was a competition where she was given a prompt and had to sit and write a story addressing the prompt. She received a second place medal for her writing!
She was also a member of the Music Memory team. In music memory she was given 16 songs, mostly classical music, ahead of time. 5 seconds of each song is played and the participants have to be able to give the name of the song and the composer. Her team win second place for that competition as well. We did a lot of practicing for this one, and she now has some new favorites!
Jen and I are very proud of how much effort she puts into everything she does...and she is experiencing a lot of success!
