How Not to Spend Your Sunday

This is supposed to be a blog post with new pictures of the kids. It has been awhile since Jen has taken pictures of the kids, and since Brayden's birthday was coming up we thought Sunday would be a good day to try to get some shots in. It was overcast so we contemplated whether we should go or not but finally decided that after church we would give it a go.

Someone at school had told Jen about an old schoolhouse where they had their wedding photos taken. Jen thought it would be fun to have some rustic pictures of the kids, so we set out southeast to try to find the schoolhouse. Neither of us had been there before but we thought we had an idea of where it was...evidently we were wrong. After driving up and down the same road a couple of times we decided we had no idea where it was and went to "Plan B."

Plan B was a field of bluebonnets that was northwest of where we started from in the first place, so we turned the movie on for the kids and headed that way. A colleague of mine was talking about this field and I was sure I could find it...yeah...I was wrong. By this time we had put on about 70 or 80 miles.

I was frustrated because I couldn't find what I was looking for. Jen was just ready to take pictures. The kids, by the way, were very happy because they were watching the movie. Trying to make me feel better, Jen said, "This place looks nice. Why don't we stop here." "Here" was a ditch that had about 10 bluebonnet plants in it along with a few other wildflowers. I wasn't going to argue with her so we stopped the car and the movie and get the kids out of their seats. We were going to get some pictures by golly.

The kids were all "propped up" with their attire. The wind was blowing a little and it was still overcast but we were going to end up with some pictures. That's when Jen unzipped her camera bag only to realize that her camera was in her other bag at home...

So...after putting on about a hundred miles here are all the pictures we DIDN'T take on Sunday! We will try again...just not sure when that will be...
