Brayden and Alayna are taking swimming lessons this week and next. They do this every year in the summer. They have fun every year too.
This year we were concerned with Brayden. On our trip back to SD we had a chance to go swimming a few times. The first few times Brayden was almost in tears because he was scared to get in the water. What was fun for him now seemed like a threat. We live in a place where we have access to a pool year round yet we are always "too busy" to take our kids swimming.
After being in the pool a few times, he is now having fun in the pool again and looking forward to going every time. He is diving to the bottom and swimming like a mad man. All it took was a chance to get in and try...a chance to become familiar again with something he loves to do.
Take time. Do the little things with your family that will benefit all of you and create memories that will last forever. Take time...you should never be "too busy" for anything so rewarding.
