National Park Tour- Bryce Canyon, Utah

We drove from Yellowstone to Bryce Canyon, UT on Wednesday. We arrived a bit late and had to set up camp so no exploring happened until Thursday.

We started our hike at Sunrise Point. This is the view that greeted us. To say it's breath-taking is an understatement.

We headed down the Queen's Garden trail. I was very impressed with the trails they have in the park. They make the trip even more enjoyable. We were winding up and down (mostly down...you know what that means later) a mountain and sometimes even through it! There are a TON of places to stop and stare in awe at what God and nature have created.

We arrived at the Queen's Garden and got a glimpse of Queen Victoria herself! If you look at the formation above you can see the queen facing left. She has her crown on, her hands are folded, and she is wearing a dress. Can you see it?

They did not have this one marked on the map, but I am pretty sure this formation is Scooby Doo. I am waiting back from park services to see if they will add it to their maps and guides.

From the queen we moved onto the Navajo Loop trail to check out Thor's Hammer. The trail was pretty tough. We had been meandering down the other trail and now had to hike all the way back up! We made many stops to rest and powered through. Once again the unbelievable views made the work worth-while.

We ended our hike at Sunset Point (which only made sense). It was a 3.75 mile hike altogether with a steep climb at the end. The kids did a great job and were very proud to say they made it! We ended just in time too as it started to rain as soon as we made it back to the truck.

We headed back to our camp to find our tent already leaking and rain is in the forecast for the next couple days. We broke down and upgraded to a cabin. Luckily they had one available. It is definitely not roughing it, but it is nice to know our things are dry and we are safe from the weather. It's a chance you take any time you try a tenting adventure.

Adding a bit more. There was a break in the weather so we headed out for another short hike a few miles from our cabin. It was a half mile in and a half mile back. Once again it was well worth the trip. After crossing a couple bridges that went over a small stream we came upon a waterfall!
