National Park Tour- Yellowstone Day 2

We spent the second day at Yellowstone wandering around the NW end of the park. The kids wanted to see Mammoth Springs so we ventured north. On the way we stopped to check out Gibbon Falls. It is a gorgeous waterfall.

Here is a view of the Gibbon River flowing away after the falls.

We made it to Mammoth Springs next. The sulfur springs have created amazing formations. The picture above are the Palette Springs. The image below is a formation located on the upper terrace.

We headed back south and stopped for lunch at the falls on the Firehole River.

After lunch we hiked on the Mary Mountain trail a couple miles. We came upon a little stream that meandered through the mountains.

We ended the day learning more about the park and its animals at the amphitheater by our campground. Throughout the day we ran across buffalo and elk. It was another fantastic day!
